Though she looks young (or at least tell her she does), Shauna has been "jitterbugging" for 21 years, lindy hopping for 15, and teaching swing for 12 (Tap for 14). Her focus the last few years has been discovering new lindy hop trends (her forever goal to remain "cool"), and making your dancing relevant, unique, but also technically sound. Shauna has traveled to share her lindy hop passion to several states, and most recently was invited to teach at Mile High Blues in Denver.
After discovering lindy hop at CO's School of Mines, Mark was a quick learner developing his skills through the Mines team; competing at several Swing Battles. Later he moved on to Joe and Nelle's Charleston Chasers, Atomic Rhythm, and Woodside Jumpers; and was recently made a member of 23Skidoo!. You will quickly learn to love Mark's cutting edge dance style, friendly teaching ability, and solid technique.
After being partnered on the newly renamed Woodside Jumpers team in Denver, this partnership has turned into an unbeatable teaching pair. Between Shauna's "old-school" knoweldge (she started lindy hopping in 1994), and Mark's current, "hip" style and technique, their students are sure to learn a little bit of everything, plus seven and a half.
Recent teaching credits include a performance/workshop weekend in Salt Lake City, returning to teach a larger workshop weekend in November; invited to teach workshops in both Seattle and Las Vegas in 2010; and Shauna was a guest instructor at Mile High Blues.
Most recent competition credits include Shauna winning the Jack and Jill at Rhythm is a Jumpin in Kansas City last month, and competing at 505 Stomp (NM), Midwest Lindyfest (MN), and Camp Jitterbug (SE); soon to continue on to Lindy on the Rocks, the International Lindy Hop Championships in Washington DC (ILHC), Swing-IN, and others!
